It started with a problem I couldn’t stop thinking about.
Hi, I’m Priya — the founder of Ginni.
I moved to Australia in 2024, and like many women, I was excited to start a new chapter of my life here.
But I quickly noticed something that may sound small, but was actually a big problem for me.
Finding jewellery that actually fit me.
Being petite and having smaller fingers and wrists, I often struggled to find rings, bracelets and other pieces that felt comfortable and looked right on me.
And when I started speaking to other girls who had the same experience, I realised it wasn’t just me.
There were so many women looking for jewellery that was beautiful, wearable, comfortable and actually suited them — without having to compromise.
And that’s where the idea of Ginni began.
WHY “GINNI”?
The name Ginni comes from “Ginni” — gold coins in India.
In Indian culture, gold has always represented something precious.
Ginnis have traditionally been gifted to women as a symbol of good fortune, prosperity, love and blessings for a new beginning.
Growing up, I saw how jewellery was never just jewellery.
It was something we gifted when we wanted to celebrate someone.
Something we wore when we wanted to feel special.
Something that carried a little piece of our story.
So when I started this business, I wanted Ginni to carry that same feeling.
Something beautiful. Something meaningful. Something that feels like yours.
AND THEN CAME THE BAGS…
One ordinary morning, I was getting ready for work.
I had what I thought was a big handbag…
…and somehow, it still didn’t fit everything I needed.
Then I started thinking about my day.
Work in the morning.
Maybe coffee after work.
Maybe a beach plan.
Maybe groceries on the way home.
And suddenly I realised I needed another bag for everything else.
Why were we carrying multiple bags when one beautiful, practical bag could do the job?
As an Indian girl, my brain immediately went:
“There has to be a solution for this.”

A TRIP TO INDIA CHANGED EVERYTHING.
Soon after, I travelled back to India for personal reasons.
During my trip, I visited Jaipur and came across the most beautiful, colourful bags.
The colours, the prints, the craftsmanship…
I instantly thought:
“Why not add these to Ginni?”
I posted one reel.
I wasn’t expecting much.
And then it happened.
7 orders came in almost instantly.
That was the moment I realised these bags weren't just something I loved.
Maybe you loved them too.
BUT I DIDN’T WANT TO JUST FIND A MANUFACTURER.
I went back to India with a different goal.
Instead of looking for a large manufacturer or mass-produced bags, I wanted to find the real artisans behind the craft.
The people who have spent years learning these techniques.
The hands behind the prints.
The people whose skills make every bag what it is.
And that became the beginning of a completely new chapter for Ginni.
Ginni Australia.
MADE IN SMALL BATCHES. NOT MASS PRODUCED.
We intentionally keep our collections small.
Most of our bags are produced in batches of no more than 20 pieces.
And once they're gone, we don't simply produce hundreds more.
Sometimes, there is no restock.
Why?
Because we love the idea that your Ginni bag feels a little more special.
You may walk into a café, a beach, your workplace or a market and be the only person carrying that print.
Less mass production. More individuality.
MORE THAN A BAG. MORE THAN JEWELLERY.
Ginni started with jewellery.
Today, it is becoming something bigger.
A collection of pieces that are designed to make everyday life a little more beautiful — from jewellery you can wear every day to colourful bags that follow you from work to coffee dates to beach days and everywhere in between.
Everything we bring into Ginni has to pass one simple test:
Would I genuinely want this in my own life?
If the answer is no, it doesn't make it into Ginni.
